For taking admission in Medical Colleges students have to pass Medical College Admission Test. It evaluates the ability of applicants in scientific concepts and principles necessary for handling medicines. The main areas of study are Biology, Chemistry and Physics. Dow University of Health and Sciences conducts entrance test for dental and medical colleges for Karachi and LUMHS for outer Sindh.
